Virtual visit: fun facts and Cavalry colouring in… and brand new podcast and video series!

Even during this time of isolation there’s no reason for the fun to stop completely. Inspired by the Household Cavalry who are carrying on like the troopers they truly are, we thought we’d bring you some virtual fun to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Why not start with a Virtual Tour of the Museum?

Walk around at your leisure here.

Virtual fun activities

1

Enjoy some arts and crafts at home by downloading some Cavalry colouring in pages.

2

Unleash your inventive side and accept our design challenge.

3

Be your own quiz-master and test the family with some fun facts.

4

Name our horses! Each year when they complete training our horses are given their official name in line with that year’s chosen letter (running in alphabetical order). The next set of names all will start with the letter ‘U’ and we need your help choosing good ones.

Tag us in social media with your ideas, or have some fun writing us a letter and we’ll put the best ones forward for consideration.

5

Try out our new weekly podcast – Not a Lot of People Know This… by listening to the stories or reading them for yourself.

6

Accept our Home Challenge and recreate images from our collection at home using whatever ‘tools’ you have to hand. Artistic licence definitely welcome.

7

Support our soldiers completing 7 marathons in 7 days (by running 282 loops of their garden) and attempt our 282 Challenge: 282 loops of your kitchen table! Split it with your family, take as long as you like and share your photos with us on social media and we’ll reward your efforts with free Museum admission tickets for when we re-open.

8

Enjoy an armchair adventure care of our Regimental Historian, Christopher Joll who is offering free access to over 50 hours of his audio-books: highly enjoyable entertainment in the comfort of your own home.
